As a part of Software Freedom Day 2018 Kathmandu today (2018-09-11) ,We have conducted a Pre-SFD program at Kathford International College which was faciliated by Bikram Karki and Sanjay KC active members of OSAC .
Our College Representative for Kathford,a smart lady with leadership skill Ms. Rachana Basnet said, "Todays Pre-SFD event organized in kathford was successful event. Around 40 students from CSIT were gathered for the event. Students were quite interactive and also interested to know about Open source software. Some of them were excited to know that Rob Savoye is going to be guest speaker in sfd event.They also seemed interested about open street mapping workshop."
Ms. Basnet added,
"Bikram Karki Dai explained everyone very well about open source software and about sfd event. He also made us very clear about the benefits of using open source software. A big thanks to bikram Karki dai and sanjay KC for being there for the seminar."
This year we OSAC(Open Source Ascol Circle) in collaboration with Department of CSIT(Computer Science and Information Technology) Amrit Campus are celebrating SFD 2018 with slogan "Open Source for multi-disciplinary integration". The main event will occur on 15th Sep, 2018 at Theatre Hall, Amrit Science Campus, Lainchaur, KTM. We have planned this event to be beneficial for people from different sectors closely related to IT. This event will have exhibition, stalls, entertainment, speeches from renowned figures and paper presentation on different hot topics like open street mapping, big data, open data, & such by communities and companies in Nepal.
